MORNING SUN...LIGHT WINDS...AND HIGH RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES NEAR
THE GROUND WILL SET THE STAGE FOR WARM AND HUMID CONDITIONS DURING
THE AFTERNOON HOURS TODAY.
HEAT INDEX VALUES ACROSS THE QUAD STATE REGION ARE EXPECTED TO
CLIMB INTO THE UPPER 90S BY LATE MORNING. BETWEEN NOON AND 5
PM CDT...SOME LOCATIONS WILL LIKELY TOP OUT BETWEEN 100 AND 103
DEGREES.
DESPITE ANY POTENTIAL FOR ISOLATED RAIN OR THUNDERSTORMS AND
ASSOCIATED CLOUD COVER LATER TODAY...THESE WARM AND HUMID
CONDITIONS WILL BE WIDESPREAD ACROSS THE REGION THROUGH THE
AFTERNOON.
IF YOU ARE AT SCHOOL OR OUT OF DOORS ON THE JOB SITE...TAKE
PERIODIC BREAKS IN THE SHADE OR MOVE INDOORS WHERE AIR CONDITIONING
MAY BE AVAILABLE. BE SURE TO DRINK PLENTY OF WATER FOR
YOURSELF...AS WELL AS THOSE PETS AND LIVESTOCK THAT REMAIN
OUTDOORS. CHECK ON THOSE PERSONS THAT MAY BE ESPECIALLY
SUSCEPTIBLE TO THIS HEAT AND HUMIDITY.
A BREAK IN THE HEAT IS EXPECTED STARTING THIS SATURDAY.
TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED BE 5 TO 15 DEGREES COOLER ON
SATURDAY THAN TODAY ...WITH HIGHS IN UPPER 70S TO LOWER 80S ON
SUNDAY AND MONDAY. RELATIVE HUMIDITY LEVELS WILL ALSO BE
LOWER...MAKING IT FEEL A LITTLE MORE COMFORTABLE.
