BUTLER COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI...
* UNTIL 800 PM CDT.
* AT 516 PM CDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED 3 TO 4
FEET OF WATER RUNNING ACROSS PORTIONS OF HIGHWAY 67 ON THE EDGE OF
POPLAR BLUFF MISSOURI. SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY
RAINFALL CONTINUE TO MOVE ACROSS BUTLER COUNTY PRODUCING TORRENTIAL
RAINFALL. AN ADDITIONAL 1 INCH IS POSSIBLE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF
HOURS.
* RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING TO
OCCUR. CREEKS...STREAMS AND LOW WATER CROSSINGS WILL BE ESPECIALLY
SUSCEPTIBLE TO THE DANGERS OF FLASH FLOODING.
