THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN KANSAS CITY/PLEASANT HILL HAS
ISSUED A WIND ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS
EVENING.
* TIMING: A VERY STRONG COLD FRONT WILL ADVANCE NORTHEAST MISSOURI
BEFORE 6 PM. WINDS WILL INCREASE QUICKLY BEHIND THE FRONT. THE
STRONGEST WINDS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE REGION BETWEEN 6 AND 10 PM.
* WINDS: SUSTAINED NORTHEAST WINDS WILL BECOME NORTH AT 25 TO 30
MPH LATE THIS AFTERNOON...WITH GUSTS TO NEAR 45 MPH LIKELY.
STRONG WINDS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH MID EVENING...BEFORE
DIMINISHING SLIGHTLY OVERNIGHT.
* IMPACTS: WINDS OF THIS MAGNITUDE CAN MAKE DRIVING EXTREMELY
DIFFICULT ON EAST-WEST ROADWAYS...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE
VEHICLES. THESE STRONG WINDS WILL ALSO COMBINE WITH MODERATE TO
HEAVY SNOW LATER THIS EVENING...SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCING VISIBILITIES
AFTER 10 PM.
