The 2011 De Soto Relay for Life raised somewhere in the neighborhood of $20K, with donations still coming in, according to American Cancer Society Community Manager Kala Glass. Friday night's event saw 10 teams and more than 40 survivors walk around the De Soto High School track in support of finding a cure for cancer. As volunteers circled the track, luminarias in honor and memory of cancer fighters and victims were lit and candles arranged in the bleachers spelled out the night's message of "HOPE."
