The season may not have ended quite the way De Soto volleyball coach Jenny Barnhart would have liked. The team lost in the first-round at sub-state but from its opening match of the year to the final point, the 2008 squad showed it had improved considerably from a season ago.

De Soto’s No. 1 doubles tennis team of Hana Lindbloom and Suzie Gulley are all smiles after winning a match earlier this season. Gulley and Lindbloom finished fifth at state this year.

Jordan Riffel dribbles the ball through traffic last week at Eudora. De Soto tied Gardner 3-3 at home last Thursday and was scheduled to play Baldwin Tuesday night, but the match was cancelled because of bad weather. The match has been rescheduled for 4 p.m. Friday at De Soto.
