Upcoming library programs aim to help job-seekers

A trio of upcoming Johnson County Library programs are geared to help job seekers.

All take place at the Central Resource Library, 9875 W. 87th St., Overland Park. Registration is not required. For more information call (913) 826-4600 or go online to jocolibrary.org/careers.

• “Careers with Diane Stafford” is set for 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday.

For those wondering what’s hot, what’s not and how to improve career prospects, The Kansas City Star’s career columnist, Diane Stafford, will share insight about the job market, job hunting and workplace success.

• A library “Career Tour” will be offered at 10 a.m. Jan. 19.

Tour the library’s Career Information Services, which includes resources for finding potential employers, researching for interview preparation, resources to help salary negotiations, and a career information collection including books, downloadable audio books and videos.

• “Networking for Professional Success” is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 23.

Professional development expert Efren Mojica will share insights and strategies on effective networking. Hear real-life examples provided by people who have networked well, and learn tips on using LinkedIn and Facebook for a networking advantage.
