Homecoming royalty to be announced during Friday's game

The De Soto High School Wildcats will play their 2011 Homecoming game this Friday night against Eudora. Princes and Princess for the Homecoming court have already been selected by the freshman, sophomore and junior classes and the senior king and queen will be voted on by the student body throughout the week.

Senior king and queen candidates are:

  • Hunter Endres, son of Tammy and Grey Endres. Hunter runs cross-county and track, plays in the DHS band and is a member of the National Honor Society.
  • Philip Kaul, son of Frank and Nancy Kaul. Philip runs cross-country and track, is a drum major for the DHS band, is a member of the Scholar's Bowl team, is on the staff of the Green Pride newspaper and is a member of the DHS debate team.
  • Andrew Duckworth, son of Tish and Johnny Duckworth. Andrew plays football and baseball.
  • Molly Brandenburg, daughter of Bob and Shelly Brandenburg. Molly is a member of the National Honor Society, the LITE team and is a tutor.
  • Hannah Stevens, daughter of Clark and Darla Stevens. Hanna is a drum major for the DHS band, is a member of Madrigals, is a member of the National Honor Society and the LITE team, is on the Student Council and participates in the musicals.
  • Haley Mills, daughter of Kirsten and Scott Mills. Haley is a member of the National Honor Society and the LITE team and is a tutor and mentor.

The court representatives are:

  • Juniors Zack Griffiths and Elise Miller. Zack is the son of Amy and Shawn Griffiths. He plays football and basketball, runs track and is a member of the power lifting team. Elise is the daughter of Shaun and Christy Miller. She runs cross-country and track.
  • Sophomores Michael Buffkin and Shelby Philbrook. Michael is the son of Michelle and Pete Buffkin. He plays football and baseball and is a member of the Student Council. Shelby is the daughter of Rex and Gabby Philbrook. She plays volleyball and runs track.
  • Freshmen Eli Pruss and Abby Oberle. Eli is the son of Annie and John Pruss. He plays football, runs track and is a member of the DHS band and the power lifting team. Abby is the daughter of Troy and Robin Oberle. She plays volleyball and is a member of the power lifting team.
