Wildcat wrap-ups: Frontier League standings varied among teams

A month into the school year the De Soto High School Wildcat fall sports teams are varied across the board in their Frontier League standings.

The Wildcat volleyball team has the best league standing at 2-0 in league play. A win against Ottawa on the road Tuesday night put the girls at 11-3 for the overall season. De Soto defeated Ottawa in five matches with scores of 25-22, 25-15, 16-25, 17-25 and 16-14. They will play at Central Heights tomorrow night.

Wildcat football is 1-1 in league play after losing 36-0 to Paola during the home opener last Friday. The boys face another league team, Baldwin, on the road this Friday before returning to De Soto for their homecoming game against Eudora on Sept. 24.

The DHS boys' soccer team is 3-1 in the Frontier League after defeating Louisburg on the road last night 1-0. A 5-0 loss earlier in the week to Lawrence's Free State High School has the Wildcats with an overall record of 4-3. DHS will play league opponent Ottawa at home tomorrow night.
