Wildcat soccer dominates Eudora

The De Soto High School Wildcat soccer team clipped the wings of the Eudora Cardinals with a final score of 4-0 at Eudora on Thursday, Sept. 8.

"We controlled the game from the opening tap of the game and we never let off the pedal," said head coach Darren Erpelding in his online game notes.

Sophomore Dustin Siebolt scored the first goal for the Wildcats early in the first half. The Cardinals helped De Soto out by shooting an own goal to end the first half 2-0 for the Wildcats.

Starting off the scoring in the second half was senior Parker Seaman with a "great header," according to Erpelding. Senior Billy Bauer ended the game on a high note for the Wildcats with a fourth goal and Bauer's first goal in varsity play.

The 4-0 game marked the first shut-out for senior goalkeeper Daniel Gooding as well.

Erpelding heralded his team's strong defense during game just as much as their offense in his notes.

"We did not allow a shot tonight and I believe that is the first time since taking over as the head coach that we have done that," he wrote.
