Saturday filled with community activities

This coming Saturday, Dec. 3, is packed with community activities. Here's a rundown of what's going on around town:

  • The Barn at Kill Creek Farm Association open house from 10 a.m.-noon at Kill Creek Farm. The group invites the public to the farm to see the frame for the new barn and to learn more about the group's future goals for the barn as a community asset. Doughnuts and hot beverages will be provided.
  • The De Soto Chamber of Commerce's Holiday Bazaar and Mayor's Tree Lighting at the De Soto Community Center from 2-7 p.m. More than 20 vendors will have booths at the event, selling everything from hair bows to kitchen goods. Kids will have the opportunity to take a picture with Santa Claus from 6-7 p.m. and the mayor's tree will be light around 5:30 p.m.
  • Hispanic Thanksgiving meal and celebration at 5 p.m. at the De Soto Methodist Church. A potluck meal will be served in the Fellowship Hall beginning at 5 p.m., followed by a Spanish service with members and pastors of HIspanic congregations in the area.
