Altercation leads to one arrest, one sent to hospital

Ervin Noe, 62, of De Soto, was arrested just before midnight on Thursday, March 3, for allegedly stabbing another man in the leg. The 40 year-old victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

According to the arrest report, Noe returned to his home at 33540 W. 82nd Street in De Soto and accused the victim, who lives across the street from Noe, of stealing from him. The report states that Noe and the victim began arguing and Noe allegedly stabbed the victim in the leg. Noe was arrested on-scene after the victim called 911.

Noe is being held without bond on charges of aggravated battery with great bodily harm. He will be formally charged this afternoon at 1:30.

I would like only to ask that you get all of the facts before you print something like the article titled 'Altercation leads to one arrest, one sent to hospital' because I know, for a fact, that you do not have correct information in this article. Wherever you got your info, most of it was wrong. Ray Noe never ONCE accused the "victim" of stealing from him, the "victim" does not live across the street from Ray, and the "victim" didn't call 911. Ray may very well have mistaken said "victim" for someone that he believes stole from him, but if so, he was mistaken. As a public news informer, you should do your very best, above and beyond, to make sure that the information printed on your website is correct because wrong information can create a great deal of trouble for innocent people for a very long time. Once you print something, it's there forever.

As stated in the article, all information came from the arrest report. The victim of the alleged crime is not named because it is the policy of the De Soto Explorer and the Johnson County Sheriff's Department to not release the names of victims of violent crimes.
