Scholar's Bowl ends stellar season with state title

The De Soto High School Scholar's Bowl team ended their already-impressive season by winning the state championship on Saturday, Feb. 12. The team consisting of seniors Ryan Scott, Ryan Endres and Crystal Wolf and juniors Robby Satterwhite, Philip Kaul and Parker Riley swept their initial pool with a 5-0 record, defeating defending state champion Topeka-Hayden among others. DHS then went 4-1 in the championship round robin, claiming the 4A State Championship.

The team averaged 75 points a round, out of a possible 160 per round, meaning they were answering nearly 50 percent of all questions correct.

This season the team won the league, regional and state championships, as well as 10 varsity tournaments. The complete varsity team won every tournament they played in, completing the best season in school history.
