Excessive heat warning still in effect for Johnson County
The National Weather Service still has Johnson County under an excessive heat warning until 8 p.m. tonight. According to the NWS, temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s with heat indexes around 110. It is important to avoid spending prolonged periods of time outdoors and to stay well-hydrated.
Children, the elderly and pets are especially vulnerable to the heat and should be monitored closely.
