Two arrested after night of chasing through Johnson County

A reported altercation around 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, on the east end of 83rd Street resulted in the arrest of two people. Two males, Jazzeusai Walker, 23, and Robert Moore, 27, both of Kansas City, Kan., fled the area upon the arrival of Johnson County sheriff's deputies. Walker was quickly apprehended and placed under arrest for an outstanding warrant in Wyandotte County, the Sheriff's Office reported.

Moore, who deputies said broke into two De Soto homes and stole a minivan, led deputies on a chase. It is still unclear if he stole any items from the De Soto homes. Officers from several other departments assisted sheriff's deputies in the pursuit of Moore.

About 3 a.m., Moore was apprehended by the Lenexa Police Department attempting to break into a home at 87th Street and Hillside in Lenexa, authorities said.

Both men are being held at the New Century Adult Detention Center. Walker is awaiting transport back to Wyandotte County, where he is facing charges of forgery. Moore is being held without bond on charges of aggravated burglary, robbery, felony theft-auto, felony destruction of property and criminal damage of property. He will have his first court appearance at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
