Severe thunderstorm hits Shawnee
A severe thunderstorm Tuesday night, July 12, hit Shawnee and Johnson County with heavy rain and winds faster than 60 mph, according to preliminary reports from the National Weather Service. Wednesday morning found many residents digging out from beneath uprooted trees, fallen limbs and damaged power lines.
