Derek Mathern, a senior at De Soto High School, reads the consent forms for donating red blood cells during the DHS Student Council Blood Drive on Tuesday, April 26. Mathern, a first-time donor, hopes to become a doctor himself someday and feels donating is good for the community. "I just feel like I should give something back, I just want to help people," he said.
