The Northwest Consolidated Fire District's ISO insurance rating has improved from a Class 6 to a Class 5. Areas in green show the Class 5 areas, which are less than five miles from a fire station and less than 1,000 feet from a fire hydrant. Areas in yellow are Class 6, less than five miles from a station but more than 1,000 feet from a hydrant and the pink areas are Class 10, meaning more than five miles from a station. An improvement in the ISO rating could mean an improvement in insurance rates for those living in the now Class 5 areas as companies use these rates to determine fire protection risk.
