Position 6 candidates set stage for election showdown
The election for De Soto’s Board of Education is less than a month away and candidates for Position 6, Shawnee, are gearing up for the race. Position 6 incumbent Larry Meyer will face off with Tim Needham and Tammy Thomas. Patrons of the De Soto School District will vote for Position 5, Position 6 and Position 4 on April 7.
Johnson calls for change, Anderson notes achievements at candidate forum
A De Soto Chamber of Commerce candidate forum last Thursday gave the two candidates for De Soto mayor their first chance to explain their vision for the city. Johnson was brief in his remarks, perhaps because he followed that response with a longer one as a candidate for a second term to the USD 232 Board of Education Position 4 seat during which he focused of his effort to bring open bidding to the district.
