David A. Barker 1940 - 2010
Private services for David A. Barker, 69, of Basehor, will be at a later date.
Mr. Barker died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. His body was donated for a Parkinson’s Research Study with the Mayo Clinic.
He was born Nov. 12, 1940, in Norborne, Mo., and had been employed by Coca-Cola for 42 years before he retired in 2001.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Barker, of the home; a son, David Barker, Independence, Mo.; three daughters, Lisa Stoll, Geneva, Ill., Anita Watson, Blue Springs, Mo., and Wendi Posada, Shawnee; three brothers, Roy Barker, Tucson, Ariz., Merle Barker, Waterville, Minn., and Jake Barker, Wellington, Mo.; a sister, Rita Mitchell of Marshall, Mo.; nine grandchildren, including a grandson, Elye Posada, of the home; and six great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), 100 S. Fifth St., Leavenworth, KS 66048.
