He was born Oct. 12, 1917, in Lanesville to Judd W. and Anna (Kramer) Cook. He was he farmer, cattleman and truck driver for the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant and Neosho County.
He married Margaret Lamb on Nov. 14, 1939, in Erie. She preceded him in death Oct. 27, 1997. Mr. Cook was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul Cook; two sisters, Nellie Goodsel and Mable Tebbe; and a stillborn daughter, Beverly Sue Cook. Survivors include a son, Don Cook and his wife, Cathy, of rural Parsons; four daughters, Barbara Clingan and her husband, Bud, of rural Parsons, Shirley Newberry and her husband, Dalton, of rural St. Paul, Christine Hizey and her husband, Rod, of rural Parsons and Dana Eggers and her husband, Ron, of rural Parsons; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Esther Cross of Clearview City in De Soto.
