Mark Edward Ross 1956 - 2009
Memorial services for Mark Edward Ross, 52, Linwood, will be at 10 a.m Wednesday at Holy Family Church in Eudora. Burial will follow at Mount Sidney Cemetery in Linwood. There will be rosary at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the De Soto Baptist Church with a visitation following at 8:30 p.m. He died Sunday, April 12, 2009, at Olathe Medical Center.
Mr. Ross was born April 17, 1956, to Robert and Mary Anna Ross. He married Cheryl Lynn Sipe on June 25, 1977, in Eudora. They moved to Linwood in 1984. He was a carpenter with Plaza Construction Co. in Kansas City, Mo. He was a member of Meat Cutter Union No. 576 for 15 years and Carpenter Union No. 714 the past seven years.
He was a sports lover who enjoyed coaching and watching his children participate in athletics and music. He played the guitar and harmonica and enjoyed writing, performing and singing music.
Mr. Ross is survived by his parents of De Soto; his wife of the home; two brothers Michael Ross, De Soto, and Mathew Ross, Linwood; three sisters Suzanne Sherman, De Soto, and Stacy Kerr, De Soto, and Sheryl Nunley, Topeka; son Zachary Ross, Linwood; two daughters, Sara K. Pierce and her husband, Joshua, Linwood, and Abby M. Ross and her fiancé, Kyle, Basehor; and three grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Basehor Linwood High School strength and conditioning program or Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora. Online condolences may be sent to www.brucefuneralhome.com.
