Ronald W. Salber 1939 - 2008 Lawrence
Memorial services for Ronald W. Salber, 68, Lawrence, were Friday, Feb. 29, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Salber died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at Colmery-O'Neil Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Topeka.
He was born May 27, 1939, in Waldo, the son of Frank and Ruth Buhrle Salber. He graduated from Waldo schools.
Mr. Salber served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam era. He had been a firefighter in Manhattan and after moving to Lawrence he worked for Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant near De Soto. He worked in the oil fields and later owned K & S Oil Well Services. He worked at Lawrence Paper Co. for several years before he retired.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
He married Carol Ann Kaufman on Feb. 13, 1965, in Russell. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Ryan Salber, Lawrence; a daughter, Kelly Rice, Lawrence; his mother, Ruth Salber, Lawrence; a brother, Gene Salber, St. Paul, Minn.; a granddaughter; and three stepgrandchildren.
