Lawrence Melvin Riley 1929 - 2008 Lawrence

Services for Lawrence Melvin Riley, 78, Lawrence, were Monday, March 3, in the veterans section of Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Riley died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, in Topeka.
He was born March 17, 1929, in Bartlesville, Okla., the son of Lawrence Edgar and Mabel May Gregg Riley.
Mr. Riley served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked for Lawrence Paper Co., All Star Dairy and Hy-Vee. He also worked for the De Soto school district as a bus driver. He was a member of the North Lawrence Christian Church.
He married Rosieleta Albert on Nov. 12, 1956, in Lawrence. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two sons; Leslie Riley, Topeka, and Mike Riley, Lawrence; three daughters, Sandra Patterson, Rose Marie Brown, and Kathleen Riley, all of Lawrence; one sister, Dolly Mark, Lawrence; 23 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
One son, Melvin Riley, three brothers, Lloyd Riley, Ralph Riley, and Marvin Riley, and two sisters, Opal Riley and Pat Paterson, preceded him in death.
