Lately I have had interest in the amount of kids having to drop out of school or failing school. In the past years, the number of failure to meet requirements and drop outs have skyrocketed. Over the last decade, between 347,000 and 544,000 10th- through 12th-grade students left school each year without successfully completing a high school program.

Child abuse has grown to 3 million reported cases a year. Even scarier is that between 1985 and 1993 cases of children being abused by their parents skyrocketed by 50 percent.
