KDOT names project manager for $250m ‘Gateway’ overhaul
The Kansas Department of Transportation has selected a project manager for its $250 million Johnson County Gateway project.
HNTB Corp. will serve as KDOT’s agent and help hire the design-build team for the project, aimed at providing congestion relief at the intersection of Interstate 435, Interstate 35 and Kansas Highway 10.
The interchange is one of the most congested in the state, with 230,000 vehicles driving through daily, according to KDOT. Traffic is projected to increase to 380,000 by 2040.
HNTB is a national architecture, civil engineering consulting and construction management firm that has an office in Overland Park.
