Before annual sale, Johnson County Library asks, ‘Got books?’
The Johnson County Library will have the 2011 Sizzlin’ Summer Used Book Sale in cooperation with Friends of the Library from June 8 through June 11 at Metcalf South Shopping Center, 9635 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park.
In addition to materials retired from the library’s collection, the sale will include items donated by the public.
The Friends are accepting these items, in good condition: Hardback and paperback books for adults and children, fiction and nonfiction books, coffee table books on any subject, VHS and DVD films and instructional videos, music CDs, audiobooks, textbooks, business and computer books, cookbooks, craft books and repair manuals.
The Friends will not accept: Books that are damaged, moldy, discolored, smelly or have missing pages; magazines and newspapers; LP records and music cassettes; or encyclopedias more than 10 years old.
Individual items or a single sack or box of items may be donated at the library’s Shawnee branch, 13811 Johnson Drive, during regular library hours. Larger donations should be delivered in boxes to the Antioch branch, 8700 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Merriam.
