KDOT to reduce Kill Creek Road bridge to one lane
Kansas Department of Transportation officials want you to give construction workers a “brake” as bridge repair work on Kill Creek Road over Kansas Highway 10.
Starting tomorrow, and during the entire construction, the bridge will be reduced to one lane. Traffic signals are being installed to direct traffic along the bridge.
“Drivers should expect minor delays and are advised to use alternate routes, if possible,” Kimberly Qualls, KDOT spokesperson said.
Kansas Department of Transportation officials said Comanche Construction Company is scheduled to complete the project in June.
Qualls said workers will use an overlay of concrete mixed with silica fume for the deck resurfacing.
Qualls said resurfacing the bridge will “smooth the pavement and make it more resistant to damage from de-icing salts.”
She added that the concrete approaches to the bridge and the concrete bridge rails will also be repair.
The repair work is expected to cost $276,000.
