De Soto’s 6-foot-7 forward Aaron Nutterfield scored 15 points, and 6-foot-4 guard Brandan Philbrook added 14 to lead the De Soto boys to a 49-40 victory Friday at Eudora.

De Soto trailed by three at the end of the first quarter, but outscored Eudora 39-27 the final three quarters. Daniel Peterson added nine points for De Soto.

Eudora's Justin Ballock and Drew Noble scored 12 points apiece to lead the Cardinals in scoring.

Both teams will compete in the Tonganoxie Invitational next week. Eudora (5-3) will play Don Bosco in the first round at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the first round. De Soto (6-3) will play Atchison at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Tonganoxie.

De Soto girls 47, Eudora 30

Katie Gorman scored 10 points, and Katie Williams and Shelbi Petty added eight apiece to help lead the De Soto girls to a 47-30 victory Friday at Eudora.

The Cardinals led 11-10 at the end of the first quarter, but De Soto controlled the glass for the final three quarters en route to the blowout win. De Soto outscored Eudora 21 to 10 in the second half.

Sydney Schmille scored 10 points and Evan Folks added five to lead Eudora in scoring.

Both teams will play in the Tonganoxie Invitational next week. Eudora (3-5) will play Tonganoxie at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the first round of the tournament. De Soto (4-4) will play Chanute at 3 p.m. Monday in Tonganoxie.
