Fund started for Loves
A fund has been established at FCB Bank in De Soto for Sydney L. Love, the infant daughter of Justin and Bee Love.
Justin Love, now at Olathe North High School, was the band director at De Soto High School from 2000 through 2008. He and his family still live in De Soto.
Julie Baldwin, a former DHS band parent, said the baby was born Sept. 8 at Overland Park Medical Center with severe cardiac and pulmonary complications. Sydney was then transferred to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., she said.
“Bee and Justin knew there were going to be heart problems because of previous testing,” Baldwin said. “But we didn’t realize the severity until after the birth. That is why we started the fund. The medical bills are going to be enormous and as we know insurance doesn’t pay for everything.
“Some of us who are grateful for the band program Justin got started at De Soto High School wanted him to know that even through he now at Olathe North he is still part of the De Soto community. We know small communities take care of their own.”
Michele Daniels of FCB Bank said a fund in Sydney L. Love’s name was opened Monday. Those wishing to contribute can do so at the bank, wire funds or mail deposits, she said.
