Occupation: Underground construction

Family: Wife, Margaret; son, Walter; daughters, Terry and Sheila.

Place of birth: De Soto. I’ve had a De Soto address all my life. It’s my hometown.

Q. What’s the biggest risk you ever took.

A. Going in business for myself.

Q. If you could vacation anywhere in the world, where would you like to go?

A. I would like to go to Australia to see the different things.

Q. What’s the best piece of advice you ever received?

A. Pay your bills on time and don’t lie about it.

Q. If you visit another era in time, when would that be?

A. The late 1800s or early 1900s. There wasn’t has much hullabaloo back then. I don’t know, maybe it was just as hard to make a living back then.

Favorite things

Musician: Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra. That kind of music.

Movie: I won’t watch them. My favorite TV show is Wheel of Fortune.

Food: American food. Beef roast or pork roast with potatoes and gravy.

Ideal vehicle: A Lincoln.
