District implements tips hotline for high schools

November 6, 2009

Mill Valley and De Soto high school are working to make students feel safer at school.

The schools recently began anonymous email and voicemail service to students to safely report instances of drug or alcohol abuse, vandalism, contraband and other discretions.

While, DHS previously had an anonymous email, MVHS lacked both options.

Now, students can leave untraceable emails or voicemails for each schools SRO officer.

Alvie Cater, communications director said, the schools have each received reports.

When a report is made the officers decided if they have merit and do a further investigation, he said.

The MVHS Tips Hotline is 913-6667-6226. The DHS Tips Hotline is 913-667-6225.

Anonymous emails can be sent through the school district's Web site at www.usd232.org/mvtips or www.usd232.org/dhtips.
