Injured shoulder sidelines Sprowl at all-star game
After being named one of the top 45 players in the state, De Soto lineman Mike Sprowl was unable to participate in the Greater Kansas City Football Coaches Association all-star game June 18 at Blue Springs High School.
“I didn’t get to play at all because I hurt my shoulder during practice with the all-star team,” Sprowl said.
Sprowl added he was disappointed he didn’t get the chance to compete.
In addition to the honor of being asked to play with the best of his peers, Sprowl was named first team all-league, all-area and all-state in 2008 for his work in the trenches for Brad Scott’s Wildcats. He is also the first football player to make De Soto High’s Wall of Champions.
Shoulder willing, Sprowl will play football for Butler County Community College in the fall.
