Kaw Valley Sportsmen’s Fishing Derby

The Kaw Valley Sportsmen Association will have its annual Kids Fishing Derby from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6 at Steve Prudden's pond at the intersection of 95th Street and Kill Creek Road in De Soto. A rain date will be June 13.

Plaques will be awarded for first-, second- and third-place winners in four age groups. Youth ages 1 to 15 are eligible to fish and there is no charge to participate.

Drawings for rods and reels and other fishing equipment will also take place

Hot dogs, cookies and drinks will be served.

For safety reasons, artificial bait will not be allowed. Worms will be provided.
