DHS football camps dates announced

The De Soto High School football camp for grades nine through 12 will be July 13 through 17.

The camps will run from 6 to 8 p.m. July 13 through 16 at De Soto High School. The camp on July 17 will run from 5 to 7 p.m. There also will be a barbeque at 7 p.m.

The De Soto Middle School football camp for players entering seventh- and eighth-grade will be from 10 a.m. to noon July 13 through 17 at the high school.

The De Soto youth summer football camp will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. July 20 though 23 at De Soto High School. The camp is open to kids entering first- through sixth-grade in August.

Cost for each camp is $35, which covers insurance and camp T-shirt. For more information about the summer football camps contact De Soto football coach Tom Byers.

DHS football fundraiser announced

The De Soto football team will have a fireworks stand to help raise money for the football team from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. June 29 to July 4 at 34105 Commerce Drive behind Gulleys Carpet and next to McDonald's.

It will be the football team's only fundraiser of the year.

DHS wrestling camp dates announced

The De Soto wrestling camp will be July 6 through 9 at Spring Hill High School.

There will be two sessions at the camp. The first sessions runs from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and the second session is from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m Monday through Wednesday.

There will be a takedown tournament from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Featured clinician Bob Smith will be at the camp.

Cost is $45 and vans will leave at 8 a.m. at De Soto High School. For more information contact DHS wrestling coach Shannon Sawner.
