Woman arrested in connection with liquor store robbery
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, working in conjunction with the Lenexa Police Department, has arrested a Shawnee woman for the Dec. 9 robbery of Mike’s Liquor Store.
Arrested in the case was Marilyn E. Lee, 24.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tom Erickson said the suspect, who was arrested Tuesday, was released Dec. 1 from Johnson County after serving time for misdemeanor theft.
Mike’s Liquor Store, 9160 Lexington Ave., was robbed when an individual wearing a hooded sweatshirt, ski mask and gloves entered the business and passed a note to the clerk demanding money. The clerk gave the person an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect left. No one was harmed in the robbery.
The store’s video camera filmed the robber. However, the outfit masked the individual’s identity well enough that the robber’s race, age and even sex were in doubt.
