Hines is currently unemployed but has a background in collision repair and custom painting.
Hines has one child in high school and one in elementary school.
Hines plans to attend every school board meeting, even if he is not elected to the school board.
Hopkins previously served on the district boundary committee before the opening of Horizon Elementary. He is also on an industrial advising committee at Kansas State University.
Hopkins has two children who attend Mize Elementary.
He works as a client services director for consulting firm Adams-Gabbert & Associates.
Johnson works for the Shawnee Mission School District as a communications behavior disorder special education paraprofessional.
Johnson has no previous experience on elected boards or committees.
She has a son at De Soto High School.
Johnson and her husband own and run Overland Park Auto in Merriam.
Johnson was elected to the USD 232 Board of Education in 2005.
Johnson is also a candidate for De Soto’s mayoral race.
He owns R&J Properties in De Soto, as well as, RJ’s Lawncare.
Johnson’s wife is a library aide at Starside Elementary.
Templin currently serves on De Soto’s Planning Commission, a post he plans to leave in April, win or lose.
Templin has a daughter in middle school and a son in elementary school.
Templin is an attorney with Payne & Jones Law Firm in Overland Park.
