$200K Powerball winner sold in Shawnee
A lottery ticket sold last week in Shawnee was just one number away from claiming a multimillion-dollar Powerball jackpot.
Instead the ticketholder, a Lake Quivira resident who chose not to be identified, has claimed a $200,000 prize for matching the first five numbers in the Wednesday, Dec. 16, Powerball drawing.
Kansas Lottery officials said the ticketholder’s $10 Quick Pick ticket — in which a computer generated numbers for the drawing — was just one number away from winning the Powerball jackpot, which was at an estimated $77 million for last week’s midweek drawing. The ticket missed only the Powerball number.
The winning ticket was purchased at Hy-Vee Food & Drug 1560, 13550 W. 63rd St., Shawnee.
No one won Saturday’s Powerball multistate lottery jackpot, putting the top prize for the Dec. 23 drawing at an estimated $106 million.
