JoCo Health Dept. did not receive recalled vaccines
The Johnson County Health Department did not receive any shipment of the H1N1 vaccination that has been voluntarily recalled.
Thousands of H1N1 vaccines for children were recalled Tuesday because tests indicate the vaccine doses lost some strength.
The Johnson County Health Department did not receive any of the vaccines produced by Sanofi Pasteur.
“Johnson County Health Department continues to strongly encourage people to receive an H1N1 vaccination”, states Lougene Marsh, Director of the Johnson County Health Department said in the release. “During this period of low influenza activity, we have a window of opportunity to gain immunity through vaccinating as many people as possible. In addition, following good public health practices of washing your hands, covering your cough and staying home when you are sick is a great way to stay healthy”.
