Dec. 10 H1N1 clinic location, target groups changed

December 9, 2009

The Johnson County Health Department is holding a public H1N1 vaccination clinic on Thursday, Dec. 10.

The clinic, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Sunset Drive Office Building, 11811 S. Sunset in Olathe, will offer the vaccinations free of charge. The building is located to the east of the Health Department.

The vaccines will be administered on a first-come, first-serve basis. An increase in the amount of vaccine available has allowed for anyone interested in getting vaccinated to do so.

However, the Health Department reminds the public it is especially important for the following target groups to receive vaccinations:

Pregnant women

Persons who live with or provide regular care for infants less than six months old

Healthcare and emergency services personnel

Persons six months to 24 years old

Persons 25 years old to 64 years old who have medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza- related complications

Consent forms are available online at www.jocoflu.org.
