New deputy county manager named
Promotions continue at the top of Johnson County government.
County Manager Hannes Zacharias announced Thursday that Bernice Duletski would be promoted from assistant to deputy county manager. The move comes less than a month after Johnson County Commissioners ended a nationwide search with the promotion of Zacharias from deputy county manager to county manager.
"Bernice has been a dedicated public servant to Johnson County government for the last four years with an easy-going approach, eagerness to work and positive attitude. She has been a pleasure to work with and a great member of the county's management team," Zacharias said.
Duletski started as assistant county manager in January 2005, coming to Johnson County from Aravda, Colo., where she was deputy city manager from 2000 to 2005. The Overland Park resident previously worked for the city of Hutchinson as assistant city manager for six years and director of planning and development for two years. She has nine additional years of experience in planning for the cities of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Wichita Falls, Texas.
Duletski attended Dickinson State College in North Dakota, earning a bachelor's degree in secondary education. She has master's degrees in urban and regional planning from Texas A&M University and in political science and public management from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls.
Zacharias and Duletski will start their new duties Sept. 1.
