83rd Street bridge over Sunflower railroad spur to be closed

The bridge on 83rd Street over the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Sunflower Railroad spur will be closed from Thursday morning until Sunday. The closing will allow Highway Safety Solutions to replace guard rails on the bridge and its approaches.
Emergency services and school bus services have been notified, and De Soto city engineer Mike Brungardt is communicating with BNSF to notify them of the bridge work, as well we will post an informational sign tomorrow at each end of the bridge notifying the public of the closure/detour.
A detour route will be posted along 85th Street and Ottawa Street during the closure.
