Voters in De Soto USD 232 go to the polls Tuesday to weigh in on the district’s third school bond issue in three years.

t’s an indication of the opportunity the 9th Kansas Senate District offered Democrats that a well-known resident of the district announced his intention to run for the seat 16 months ago.
The Republican parties determination to keep incumbent Julia Lynn in the Senate in the district that includes De Soto was demonstrated Tuesday when Senate Majority Leader Derek Schmidt accompanied Lynn on campaign stops, including door-to-door visits

Johnson County, in partnership with the cities of Olathe and Overland Park, is applying for $6.6 million in federal funding to stabilize neighborhoods and assist with the housing crisis as it relates to foreclosures and subprime mortgage issues.

esidents of De Soto USD 232 please read about the bond issue that will be on the Nov. 4 ballot and investigate the information for yourself. Stop paying attention to inaccurate and distracting information being put out there by a couple of members of the DeSoto School Board. These individuals do not appear to have the best interests of our children‚s education at heart. Each time a bond comes up for a vote; they always have one reason or another as to why residents should vote “No.”

The day could also end a two-year effort by De Soto USD 232 to pass a bond package aimed at addressing growth needs. Although it is difficult to advocate for more taxes during a time of economic uncertainty, the De Soto USD 232 bond issue deserves support.
