Friday was a special and event-filled evening in De Soto. The De Soto Chamber of Commerce Blues and BBQ opened the new Riverfest Park while De Soto High School celebrated its 2008 homecoming about a mile away.
Brian Murdock knitted the two events together and managed to star in both.

It was difficult this weekend to decide which was more impressive: That the De Soto Chamber of Commerce was able to put on such a well-planned professional event or the new De Soto Riverfest Park that was its home.

The Willow Springs F.C. E meet last Thursday at the De Soto Baptist Church with Reta Jenks as hostess. The tables were decorated with several ceramic Halloween figurines on a yellow cloth.

The Johnson County 4-H Horse Club had its annual Halloween Party Oct. 8t. The party was fun filled with games and more. There was a fantastic hay ride with horses and Halloween decorations to see.
