De Soto Willow Springs F.C.E. gets lesson on motivation
The De Soto Willow Springs F.C.E. met last Thursday at the home of Reta Jenks for its monthly meeting. Rita prepared a vegetable soup and also beans and cornbread. Members brought desserts.
The “pig” that Rosemary sent — a pretty array of towels — was won by Jean Epperson.
Dorothy Nalley gave table grace and read the October minutes. Leona Robinson took collections and gave the report.
Reta read a poem that brought many laughs as we recalled past history. Jean read the article “10 Rules for Motivating People,” which made some of us feel guilty on certain points.
Dorothy read an article about how things had changed in the years 1978 to 1990 and how cell phones have got the attention of the world now.
The club was pleased to have former member GeorgeAnna Taylor join the F.C.E. again.
The workshop has a signup for a workshop Friday at the Extension office in Olathe on lessons for 2009. Wyandotte County Extension was to set in on the lessons.
