Kirk Johnson benefit golf tournament
The will be a benefit golf tournament for the Kirk Johnson Family Fund Saturday, Nov. 15, at Dub’s Dread Golf Club, 12601 Hollingsworth Road in Kansas City, Kan. Registration will start at 9 a.m. and a shotgun start with 144 player maximum will be at 10 a.m.
The tournament package includes green fees, cart rental, range balls, personalized scorecards, cart tags, contest markers, sponsor hoes and two drinks tickets per player. A BBQ buffet of three meats, backed beans, potato salad, coleslaw and soft drink is also included.
Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place with additional awards given for longest drive, hole-in-one, closest to the pin, lowest team score and highest team score.
Charity pledge players with the most pledge dollars will also win a price.

Kirk Johnson has coached more than 25 De Soto youth teams in his five years in the community. He learned this summer the colon cancer he was treated for two years earlier had returned and was given six months to a year to live.
