Death DeJour

By Kathy Reichs

Temperance (Tempe) Brennan is a forensic anthropologist working in both South Carolina and Montreal. She sees the results of deadly violence on a daily basis but is never immune to the horror.

During her examination of the remains of a French-Canadian nun who is up for sainthood Brennan finds something the Church may not want to know. Before this work is finished a family of four and another woman are found murdered in a house nearby. There seems to be a tie to current incidents in South Carolina, so when she returns to Charlotte, Tempe acts as guide and consultant to the law.

The TV show "Bones" is based on the Brennan character and Reichs' work. It is interesting and intriguing as only someone who knows the job Reichs' is a forensic anthropologist can do.
