Johnson County Library District’s 20th annual summer used book sale starts Wednesday
Readers will have an opportunity to stock up on used books next week at the Johnson County Library's annual Sizzlin' Summer Used Book Sale.
Conducted in cooperation with Friends of the Library at Metcalf South Shopping Center, 9635 Metcalf, Overland Park, the sale will feature bargin-priced books and audiovisual materials for those of all ages and interests. Most items are priced at 50 cents or $1 each with some items specially marked.
Sale dates and hours will be:
Wednesday, June 11, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Thursday, June 12, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday, June 13, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday, June 14, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A "Friends of Library Member Only" Preview Sale will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 10. It requires a current Friends of the Library membership card that may be purchased at the sale or Friends Used book stores located at Antioch and Blue Valley Neighborhood libraries.
Marsha Bennett, community relations coordinator for the library, said the 20th used book sale will be larger and longer than previous sales. "There is a huge selection of materials this year," Bennett stated. "We have added an extra day and lots more tables this year as there are many more items available. Shoppers will love the magnitude of this year's sale! We estimate there are over 90,000 items. "
