De Soto teen vying for county Miss 4-H

Breanna Sigman, of De Soto, is one of three candidates for Miss Johnson County 4-H.

The title of Miss 4-H is given to the 4-H'er who has demonstrated outstanding contributions to Johnson County 4-H in areas of leadership, citizenship and participation.

Breanna, 17, is president of the Pioneer 4-H Club and has been a member for 11 years,

A variety of activities and achievement in all areas are important in selecting Miss 4-H. She serves as a role model to younger 4-H'ers and is viewed as an outstanding youth leader in the community.

Candidates completed a four-page application, wrote a 250-word essay, gave a public presentation and interviewed before a panel of five judges. Judging took place July 19 at the Johnson County Extension Office. Coronation will be Thursday at Wheatridge Middle School in Gardner during intermission of the Fashion Revue.
