Advance voting starts
Johnson County voters can cast advance ballots in person or by mail now through Aug. 2 during operating hours at four locations in the county. Mail ballots must be received at the Johnson County Election Office by 5 p.m. Aug. 1.
To vote by mail, voters complete an application for an advance voting ballot by fax at 791-8931, 791-8932 or 791-8933 or mail it to Johnson County Election Office, 2101 E. Kansas City Road, Olathe, KS, 66061. Applications are available at city halls, the election office and its Web site, www.jocoelection.org. A separate application must be submitted for each election unless the voter qualifies for permanently sick or disabled status. Call the election office with questions at 782-3441.
The hours of advance voting locations and their hours are:
¢ Johnson County Election Office, 2101 E. Kansas City Road, Olathe, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 4 at this location only.
¢ Johnson County Northeast Office, 6000 Lamar, Mission, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
¢ Metcalf South Shopping Center, 9531 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
¢ Ten Quivira Plaza, 12156 Shawnee Mission, Saturday.
