Area Scounts to begin popcorn sale

October 11, 2007

Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts will be selling popcorn to help provide local Scouting units with the funds needed to offer its programs.

Scouts in uniform will be going door-to-door as well as setting up at local businesses to offer Trails End Popcorn to friends and neighbors. Sales end Oct. 27.

The sale is sponsored by the Heart of America Council and allows units to earn all or nearly all of the funds needed for camping, attending summer camp, pinewood derbies and high adventure trips.

Scouts will be on the streets throughout the Kansas City metro area and the other 19 counties in the service area of the Heart of America Council. The Heart of America Council serves more than 44,000 young people through the work of more than 18,000 adult volunteers.
